About the Hawke's Bay Syrah 2021
The perfume/florals and spice of Syrah introduce a fruit-dominant, complex wine bursting with intense blueberry, raspberry, and blackberry fruit flavours. Supple tannins, crisp acidity, and a touch of toasty oak, combine on the palate to produce a succulent, lingering, and spicy finish. Released young to emphasize the beautiful perfume and fruit freshness, this wine can be enjoyed on its own or partnered with a wide range of foods, particularly red meat dishes, game, or pasta. Drink over the next five to eight years for maximum enjoyment.
About the Gimblett Gravels Syrah 2020
Captivating floral and perfumed aromas of ripe raspberries and blackberries, along with hints of Chinese five spice, black liquorice, and vanilla bean, lead to a concentrated yet vibrant palate where refined tannins and refreshing acidity combine to create a supple, silky texture and a spicy, succulent finish of outstanding length. A quintessential expression of Gimblett Gravels Syrah that will develop complex mineral, gamey characters with bottle age. A great accompaniment with red meat dishes, especially duck and venison.
About the Single Vineyard Thomson's Block Syrah 2020
A beguiling combination of florals, red fruits, roses, Chinese five spice, smoked meats, liquorice, and fresh cedar lead to a concentrated palate with outstanding purity of flavour and vitality thanks to a fine backbone of natural acidity. Dense, mouthcoating tannins, and complimentary cedary oak, beautifully frame the wine providing a silky texture, culminating in a long succulent finish. A complex, intensely perfumed Syrah of style and character that will only develop more interest with time.

The 2019 Homage displays the complexity, sophistication and refined power that are the hallmarks of the marque. The characteristics of Gimblett Gravels Syrah shine through in a captivating, complex bouquet. Ripe blackberries, black liquorice, Chinese five-spice and crushed minerals are complimented by an exotic perfume of red fruits and florals. Toasty/cedary oak sits discretely in the background. The wine is intense and concentrated in the mouth with fine-grained tannins providing a powerful, yet silky texture. Balanced acidity and supportive oak ensure the wine remains vibrant, focused, and supple on a palate distinguished by exceptional length of flavour and a lingering spicy finish.
